Read More Here: "Here's how a 79-year-old voter who's never missed an election since age 21 sees a politician: If a man can't keep a vow or promise he made in his church to his wife whom 'he loves very much,' can we expect him to keep a promise he makes to the voters he never saw or has no real personal contact with?
The answer is obvious to me. If you cheat on the one you love and committed to, you sure enough will cheat on me, whom you never met, and only used me to get your job.
The John Edwards scandal is just one more proof in point. My question is simply, 'When are we going to hold politicians' feet to the fire on their so-called promises?'
Please, don't call this a mistake. Mistakes happen when you make a decision not knowing all the facts. You knew the facts here because you have proclaimed often your love of moral laws, and you swore to uphold the civil laws in public office. Now you broke both of them knowingly. Don't call it a mistake — the only mistake here was getting caught."
