1990 Scandals involving Salomon Brothers surfaced.

Contrasts in experience between Obama and Palin

We all now know the contrasts in experience between Obama and Palin, as they have been hashed over in the media quite a bit in the past few days.

However, My Ego has seen no mention of what My Ego considers the most important experience of all: Media Vetting, and how each candidate deals with it. My Ego isn't making a case for either candidate, rather pointing out the lack of coverage and analysis, of what My Ego believes to be the most important type of experience now needed to be president.

We've now had the past 20 months of "vetting" Mr. Obama, who has stood in the bright spotlight off media onslaught that has come his way. Between Reverend Wright, Ayers, Rezco, his whitey-hating wife, and all the rest, we've seen how Obama has handled the big media machine on a daily basis. Political or executive experience aside, this is the very experience that is most needed, for better or worse (likely worse), when it comes to 21st century politics.

Within a mere 72 hours, we say Mrs. Palin only getting the first glimpses of what she'll soon face; between her 17 year-old daughter's pregnancy, to the questioning of her mothering of the four month old Down Syndrome baby, to the brother-in-law firing scandle, we've only just begun to see how Mrs. Palin will handle what will only be more and more attention over the next eight weeks.

Morning Joe spars with “unbiased” colleagues In One Ear… Out the Other

So I like the show. Moving on.

Recently Joe has clearly been annoyed with his colleagues at MSNBC and in the News media as a whole. I caught a couple of these skirmishes on air and am just so glad that he will not back down on his opinion, regardless of whether I agree with it or not, in the face of what everyone else in his field is saying or doing."

During Monday night’s coverage of the Dems Convention, Scarborough took it to Keith Olbermann on the air, simply bringing some reality to the convention coverage. Sure, this thing is going swimmingly, but it’s far from over. McCain’s camp is still plugging away, and if we’ve learned anything from 2004, we can’t take any election for granted. Olbermann is just so taken with Obama and clearly biased in his favor, it was nice to see Joe give him a dose of reality. (Yes, I am rather taken with Obama too, but I’m not a professional and I don’t pretend not to be.) Watch for yourself:

Britain finally holds inquiries into tainted blood scandal that killed 1,000 hemophiliacs -- Newsday.com

Read More Here: "PEEBLES, Scotland (AP) _ Robert Mackie trembles with rage when he describes how he and his wife were kept in the dark about his HIV infection — and how doctors published his medical data in journals years before they gave him the devastating news.

Mackie is one of some 5,700 British hemophiliacs who received tainted blood and were infected with HIV, hepatitis or both, in what has been viewed as one of the worst treatment disasters in the history of Britain's heath care system. Nearly a third of those infected have since died.

Tainted blood scandals have been investigated throughout the world — in France, Canada, Japan and elsewhere — leading to some convictions of health officials and many compensation packages for infected hemophiliacs, but there has been no detailed probe in Britain until now. One inquiry under way will likely end in a nonbinding report, while the other is an official investigation by the Scottish government that could lead to charges filed against individuals.

'They used me as a guinea pig,' said Mackie, 58, in his house in Scotland. 'It's just a miracle my wife wasn't infected.'"

The forgotten scandal of the Soviet ape-man - opinion - 20 August 2008 - New Scientist

Read More Here: "In February 1926, Russian biologist Ilia Ivanov set out for Guinea in French West Africa, where he planned to perform one of the world's most sensational experiments. Ivanov was an expert in artificial insemination and had used his ground-breaking methods to create an assortment of hybrid animals. Now he was going to try something even more radical - crossing an ape and a human. His trip to Africa was expensive and its purpose highly questionable, yet the Bolshevik government not only sanctioned it but also financed it at a time when few Russians were allowed to leave the country. Why would so eminent a scientist risk his reputation? And why did the Bolsheviks back him?

IT WAS the story with everything: secret papers, an evil Soviet dictator and a zealous zoologist hell-bent on breeding a creature that was half man, half ape. When details of Ilia Ivanov's attempts to create ..."
